Call for New Members:     For Gallery level 3 - the Interior Gallery

We are seeking fresh, innovative artists across genres.  We are looking for professional artists who are effective communicators with strong technical skills and a strong understanding of who they are as artists. Artists will be selected by the La Familia board and will then be notified of their acceptance.

La Familia Gallery is a unique artist cooperative in that the gallery is a part of La Familia, the art of living LLC which is connected with Scene In Seattle, H'Art Dating, and Seattle Art CARD. Each of these programs provide excellent marketing and exposure for gallery artists

The Benefits of membership

*   Members of La Familia Gallery are encouraged to exhibit personally and social challenging work. They are both given the freedom to present their work as they so desire and expected exhibit an superior level of professionalism.

*   La Familia Gallery is dedicated to discussing new ideas, collaborating and supporting individual members. Meetings and events are held throughout the year to foster new relationships and build community.

*   La Familia Gallery is associated with Scene In Seattle Fine Art Tours who promotes the members and the space to collectors, patrons, other galleries and tourists. This affiliation provides an increased level of promotion not associated with other artist coops.

*   La Familia Gallery is associated with Seattle Art C.A.R.D. which is an innovate community designed to provide artists with the services and staff they need to develop their careers while also providing support to their collectors. Members of La Familia Gallery may choose to join Seattle Art C.A.R.D. for a reduced rate. The choice is entirely their own.

*   Members can choose to have work on hand year round and displayed in the La Familia Gallery Salon. This benefit alone is substantial. Instead of having your work on display only one month a year, collectors have constant access to members work.

The Responsibilities of Membership

When you join La Familia Gallery you make a commitment of your time and your passion. In order to be successful, members must be self-directed, organized, motivated, timely and creative. Each member is asked to participate in the creative community, attend member meetings and participate in events. When you submit your application you agree to all of the following terms.

*   You are committed to one year of membership. No exceptions.

*   All members pay a nonrefundable $50 fee at the time of joining. Monthly membership fees range from $88- $38 depending on which area of the gallery members choose to exhibit in.

*   Members are expected to provide a complete and professional Artist Portfolio to be kept at La Familia during the duration of their membership.

*   Members may incur other expenses such as providing wine or food for their own openings. These expenses are the choice and the responsibility of the member artist.

*   Each member commits to sitting the gallery from 11:00am - 5:00pm seven days per year. Members unable to sit must provide a substitute, or pay an additional $40 per month.

*   Members are required to attend monthly meetings. This time will be used to discuss gallery issues, concerns and projects. If you miss a meeting, you are responsible for reading meeting minutes, which are e-mailed.

*   Each member is required to join at least one Development Group. These groups focus on such things as exhibition catalogues and events.

*   Members are required to install and uninstall their own shows and prepare the space for the incoming artist. Each artist is required to provide all of the hardware and supplies required to complete their show.
