Artist Statement:

 

Flicker of a Dream

 

A glimpse, a trace, a fleeting moment, which appears only for an instant, and I am left with a faint flicker of what has been, resembling a long forgotten dream. This body of work is my search to unbury, to uncover, and to expose that place which exists as a hazy dream in the mind. I work with heated wax, which allows me to push and pull the surface of the painting to dig up and reveal things that are hidden beneath. These paintings are of places we would like to go to, to be lost in. The meadow we long to run through, the seaside where we can hear the whispering of the water, and the moon we wish to gaze up at and listen to the music of the night. They are full of wonder and allure yet all is not seen through the haze.
